Elektron Outbox 8

The Elektron Outbox 8 is a versatile 8-channel audio/CV expansion unit that also functions as a USB host and device. Designed to expand your setup's connectivity, it also offers a wealth of creative possibilities. It adds 8 fully configurable physical outputs to the connected device, allowing you to send audio and CV signals in any combination supported by your gear.

Route individual audio signals to a mixing console, effects units, or other external equipment. You can also convert MIDI data into CV signals to control a modular system or any other CV-compatible device.

The Outbox 8 is compatible with Overbridge-enabled Elektron devices, class-compliant USB MIDI devices, and many class-compliant USB audio devices. USB MIDI compatibility is extensive, while audio compatibility may vary depending on the manufacturer and firmware version. The Outbox 8 can also function as an audio interface, adding eight extra outputs to your computer.

Send your audio signals

The Outbox 8 allows you to route individual tracks or sub-mixes from your compatible Elektron machine to external gear for signal processing, mixing, or live performance.

Control your gear via CV

The Outbox 8 outputs can be assigned to various CV signal types: Pitch, Gate, Trig, Value Lin, or Clock. This makes it easy to integrate a modular system or other CV-controllable instruments into your setup.

MIDI-to-CV conversion

Use the Outbox 8 as a dedicated USB MIDI-to-CV interface. Play, sequence, modulate, and synchronize your modular systems and other CV-compatible instruments from your Elektron machine. You can also connect a MIDI controller directly to play and control your CV gear.

8-output USB audio interface

Connect the Outbox 8 to a computer, tablet, or smartphone to use it as an 8-output USB audio interface. You can then route the various channels from your DAW to a mixing console, effects units, studio monitors, or any other external equipment, while simultaneously converting MIDI data to CV when needed.
