Erica synths Bullfrog drums
The Bullfrog Drums is a sample-based drum machine designed by Erica Synths in collaboration with electronic artist Richie Hawtin. Conceived for both learning and performance, it combines an intuitive approach inspired by classic X0X-type machines with modern sampling and sequencing capabilities.
Equipped with 7 sample-based tracks, the Bullfrog Drums allows you to create punchy rhythms and manipulate any type of sound: percussion, textures, drones, chords, or effects. Each voice has dedicated controls for sculpting the sound in real time using parameters such as pitch, start point, sample length, attack, decay, overdrive, and stereo panning.
The machine includes a microphone, a line input for direct sampling, and 64MB of memory for storing custom sound banks. It comes with several sample banks created by Richie Hawtin and the Erica Synths team, while also offering ample space for your own creations.
Its TR-style step sequencer offers up to 64 steps per pattern and includes advanced features such as ratchets, probabilities, micro-timing, automation, and parameter locks. Thanks to its CV/Gate sequencer, the Bullfrog Drums can also control modular or semi-modular synthesizers, making it the central hub of a compact electronic setup.
Bustier thanks to its aluminum chassis, built-in speaker, MIDI DIN and USB-C inputs/outputs, and stereo audio outputs, the Bullfrog Drums is ideal for both beginners wanting to explore rhythm programming and experienced musicians looking for a creative, powerful, and immediately accessible groovebox.
