Designed and crafted by master builder Austin MacNutt, the FENDER Custom Shop 1963 Stratocaster Masterbuilt MBAM #R144111 (9217001109) is an exceptional model, built with hand-selected components: a two-piece alder body, a quarter-sawn maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard (60s Oval C profile, 9.5" radius, narrow frets), Custom Shop hand-wound '60/63 (neck/middle) and Fat '64 pickups, Custom Shop hardware.

Austin MacNutt was born in Canada to musician parents. A fan of the Fender brand since childhood—particularly his father’s vintage 1963 Jaguar—he began his musical training at the age of 10.
It wasn’t long before he developed an interest in guitar making and began repairing instruments for local musicians. He then took his skills to the next level by enrolling at the Guitar Craft Academy in Hollywood. Recognizing his talent, the school eventually offered him a teaching position, which he held for five years.
During a seminar, he met Ron Thorn, who in turn hired him at Thorn Guitars. There, he spent eleven years crafting high-end instruments from start to finish.
He now practices his craft in the prestigious setting of the Fender Custom Shop.
