Fender Custom Shop 1964 L-Series Stratocaster #L11710 - heavy relic olympic white

This FENDER Custom Shop Time Machine 1964 L-Series Stratocaster Heavy Relic #L11710 (9236091052) is a reproduction of the original Strat from one of its most iconic periods (just before the company was sold to CBS for $13 million in 1965).
Sold with a Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.

Solid body electric guitar, “sort for lightweight” alder body, bolt-on neck made of “rift-sawn” maple, “round-lam / sort for dark” rosewood fingerboard (’59 Esquire C profile, medium-vintage frets, vintage 7.25” radius), hand-wound Custom Shop Fat ’64 Strat pickups.

The Fender Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are legendary electric guitars and basses that have played a major role in the popularization and rise of amplified music.
Ideally, one would be the proud owner of an original model from the ’50s, ’60s, or ’70s, but the prices of vintage instruments are so high that they are out of reach for most people. The Custom Shop Time Machine series bridges the gap between vintage instruments and current production models.

Regarding the Relic finish: dealers at NAMM 1995 were completely blown away by the level of realism in the first two Relic models that Fender presented to them that year. Although they were connoisseurs of vintage instruments, they mistook them for authentic original Fenders (they were a ’51 Nocaster and a ’56 Mary Kaye Stratocaster).
The accelerated aging process is now fully mastered and accounts for the bulk of the Custom Shop’s sales.
