Gibson J-45 60s Original (Baggs HiFi DNA Preamp) - vintage cherry sunburst

The Gibson J-45—also known as “The Workhorse” and introduced in 1942—is one of the most popular acoustic guitars of all time. This Slope-Shoulder Dreadnought has played a major role in shaping the American folk sound in particular (and, by extension, the international folk sound), having been recorded on countless legendary albums. Its warm, expressive, and balanced tones have made it a timeless instrument.

The all-solid-wood construction of the GIBSON Original Collection J-45 60s Original (OCRS4560HFVCS) combines traditional woods with a Sitka spruce top, a mahogany body and neck, and a rosewood fingerboard (20 frets). A classic combination in the best sense of the word, providing an excellent balance between projection, warmth, and clarity, with prominent midrange.

This J-45 60s Original is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system.
The HiFi DNA system uses two pickups positioned under the bridge instead of the usual piezo. They perform recordings of the vibrations of both the strings and the soundboard. The result is an even more natural and dynamic sound that faithfully reproduces the instrument’s original acoustic character.
Each Baggs HiFi DNA pickup has its own active preamp. The volume and tone controls are located on the inner edge of the soundhole.

The Gibson J-45 60s Original is a must-have electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar—fundamentally versatile—that will suit most musicians, regardless of their musical style or playing technique (fingerpicking, strumming).
