Ultra-lightweight, resonant, and dynamic, this magnificent JAMES TRUSSART SteelTopCaster #12204 is a neo-vintage solid body electric guitar that perfectly embodies the genius and expertise of the French luthier. James Trussart has successfully reinvented the iconic Fender© Telecaster© guitar—no small feat.

Unlike the all-metal Steelcaster, the SteelTopCaster is more traditional. Only the top is adorned with an engraved steel plate.
Its construction combines a Sugar Pine body featuring tone chambers (to reduce the instrument’s weight without altering its core character), a bolt-on maple neck, and a maple fingerboard (set with 22 frets).
This traditional combination of woods produces a sound that is at once full-bodied and responsive, dense and precise, with dynamic bass, balanced mids, and crystalline highs.

"Sugar Pine" is a tree native to the west coast of the United States. Its tonal characteristics are reminiscent of the finest ash woods, with incredible resonance. It is prized for its beautiful grain and light weight.

The pickup set includes a Trussart Arcane single-coil at the bridge and a TV Jones Classic humbucker at the neck. This configuration is reminiscent of the 1970s Fender® Custom® model beloved by Keith Richards.
