Martin Road 000-E Retro Plus Granadillo - aging toner
The MARTIN Road Series 000-13E Retro acoustic/electric guitar is inspired by Martin's legendary 28-style models and brings timeless design together with modern craftsmanship. Its torrefied solid spruce top is thermally aged for an open, broken-in sound from day one—just like your favorite guitar had decades to mellow. Paired with solid granadillo back and sides, it delivers rich sustain, sparkling highs, and balanced tone across all six strings. Scalloped X-bracing adds punch and resonance, while a Performing Artist neck and ebony fingerboard make it a joy to play.
Finished with classic Style 28 appointments and LR Baggs Element electronics, this stage-ready guitar is built for players chasing tone, comfort, and inspiration—wherever your road leads.
Native from central America, Granadillo is considered a type of rosewood. Sonically close to Indian rosewood with broad frequency range and clear articulation. Harder and denser, it yields an additional bell-like ring, clear, chimey tone. Classical guitar makers later borrowed it and have been using it for at least 50 years.
