Its traditional construction (with “Spanish fan” bracing) features a solid cedar top, a laminated rosewood body, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard.
Cedar (a conifer native to the Middle East, North Africa, and the Himalayas, and naturalized in Europe) is a less dense wood than spruce. Acoustically, this characteristic results in added warmth. Cedar tends to amplify soft sounds while tempering the high volumes produced by powerful strums.
