The TLM 102microphone defines a new generation of Neumann studio microphones, both in terms of its design itself and its price. Its small dimensions contribute to an exceptionally compact appearance, taking up all the typical elements of a Neumann microphone's look. Its harmonious proportions and the shiny ring under the grille ensure that the TLM 102 attracts attention at first glance.
In terms of sound, the TLM 102 is impressive. It features a new, large-diameter capsule with cardioid directionality and a maximum sound pressure level of 144 dB, enabling it to record percussion, drums, guitar and bass amps and other high-pitched sound sources. But even instruments with lower sound levels will benefit from the TLM 102's very fast transient response. However, its preferred area of application is still vocals, both sung and spoken. A slight rise in the response curve above 6 kHz ensures excellent voice presence in the mix. Up to 6 kHz, the frequency response is very linear, resulting in minimal coloration and clearly defined bass. The capsule is mounted on an elastic suspension, suppressing the solid transmission of structural noise. A pop screen integrated into the grille suppresses plosives when recording vocals sung or spoken in close proximity.

Thanks to its price and wide range of applications, the TLM 102 is ideal for recording at home and for the project studio sector, as well as in broadcast, especially if it is important not to obstruct the view of presenters.

The TLM 102 is available in black and nickel finish and comes with a microphone stand mount.
