SADOWSKI SBS 45B Blue Label Bass String Set Stainless Steel Taperwound 5-String 045-130T (stainless steel wrap, hex core) offers improved midrange presence and lower tension feel. Its cutting and aggressive tone is perfect for funk and slap bass.
It was designed for top-loading bridges, and is not recommended for through-body stringing.
Taperwound 130 string : heavier gauge bass strings are tapered for many reasons. The thicker the string the more rigid and less flexible the string becomes. With a low-B .130 for exemple, the string may not allow for the creation of a proper “witness point” (a witness point is where the string sits on the bridge saddle).
If a proper witness point is not made, the string will not be perfectly straight between the saddle and the nut. The result will be a string that does not allow for proper intonation and odd harmonics may occur.
