Designed and supervised by the famous American musician, the SIRE Larry Carlton L7dx (Tobacco Sunburst) is not the umpteenth vulgar copy of an American reference model (in its "Custom" version) from which it was inspired. If it takes up the fundamentals (mahogany body, glued mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard with 24.75" scale, duo of double-coil pickups), it excels in terms of price/performance ratio.
The lutherie combines a mahogany body (with tonal chambers to reduce the instrument's weight), a maple top, a glued mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard. A positively classic, timeless platform. It generates a warm, dynamic acoustic base, with generous bass and midrange but no lack of clarity thanks to the Maple top and Ebony fingerboard. The latter noticeably and musically compresses the sound, a parameter that may prove interesting in Hard-Rock and Metal contexts.
Equipped with Custom -2 Humbucker pickups, the Sire Larry Carlton L7dx produces very seductive, expressive tones, whether saturated crunch and lead, or even clean.
