Soyuz microphones 013 Ambisonic

The Soyuz 013 Ambisonic is a first-order Ambisonic condenser microphone designed to capture a full 360° sound environment. It enables immersive recordings using a single microphone, suitable for music production, film, broadcast, virtual reality, gaming, and immersive audio formats.

The 013 Ambisonic incorporates four condenser capsules derived from the Soyuz 013 series. Each capsule features a gold-plated diaphragm and operates as an independent channel to precisely capture the three-dimensional sound field.

Unlike many Ambisonic microphones that use small electret capsules, Soyuz employs four precision-crafted, large-diaphragm condenser capsules. This design delivers detailed reproduction, deep low-end response, and a natural, realistic spatial image.

Each capsule is paired with its own Soyuz toroidal transformer. These four transformers add depth and character to the signal while maintaining excellent definition.

The 013 Ambisonic allows for the adjustment of sound field orientation, perspective, width, and positioning after recording. It comes with a suite of Soyuz plug-ins developed specifically for the microphone, including an Ambisonic Transcoder and Decoder.

The Transcoder converts the four microphone signals into Ambisonic B-Format, while the Decoder allows for subsequent adjustment of the recording's direction, rotation, and perspective. The output can be adapted to various playback formats, including stereo, headphones, surround sound, and immersive systems.

Even in strictly stereo productions, the 013 Ambisonic offers a highly versatile solution for recording a full room, an instrumental ensemble, drums, strings, or a live performance. The sound field can be further manipulated during mixing to fine-tune the width, depth, and direction of the recording. Key Features
