Zildjian K Constantinople Serie Thin over ham Ride - 22 inches
A journey through the centuries.
Crafted using the ancestral methods of Turkish master craftsmen, these deep, dark-sounding cymbals offer unique harmonies. The art of hand-crafted cymbal making is pushed to the limit. Look no further than the world's finest cymbals: simply historic...
**A remarkable arrival
Introduced in the early 2000s, Constantinople cymbals were a long-awaited answer to the demand for cymbals in the vein of those used by sixties jazz drummers such as the great Elvin Jones. At the turn of the century, when fusion music was in full swing, Zildjian heard the lament of these orphaned jazzmen in the face of a production that seemed to have simply forgotten them. This series alone symbolizes the rebirth of instruments intended for more acoustic music, cymbals that are necessarily richer, a little darker, but that lose nothing in articulation or definition.
**A series with a strong identity.
A K Constantinople cymbal is instantly recognizable! Its slightly domed, hammered appearance, from the rim to the top of the bell, its smooth, satin-finish patina, and the hammer marks that hint here and there at a rough part of the metal, make each wrinkle in this series a unique, identifiable instrument. Likewise, when played blind, the amateur (and a fortiori the connoisseur) can't go wrong, as the balance and length of the sound halo speak for themselves. A true tour de force that has spawned many others since.
