Waldorf Crema
With the Crema, Waldorf reimagines the world of vintage string machines in a compact, modern, and versatile polyphonic synthesizer. As the successor to the famous Streichfett, it combines the richness of classic string sounds with the power of wavetable, FM, and virtual analog synthesis to offer a wide range of sounds.
Thanks to its two sound engines—Texture and Lines—which can be used independently or layered, the Crema lets you create everything from warm string sections to enveloping pads, atmospheric layers, and evolving textures. Its intuitive controls provide direct access to key synthesis parameters for shaping sounds and evolving them in real time.
The latest addition to Waldorf’s line of compact synthesizers, alongside the Protein, the Crema combines the authentic character of vintage string machines with the capabilities of modern synthesis in a lightweight, rugged, and easily transportable format. An ideal instrument for sound design, music production, and live performances.
Two synthesis engines (Texture and Lines) that allow you to layer two distinct sound layers.
Engines can be used simultaneously or independently.
Effects section with two slots for modulation effects, reverb, and Shimmer.
Independent routing for each engine.
Keyboard layering or split based on note range and/or MIDI channel.
Texture Engine
24 sound types across three synthesis modes: Strings, Wavetable, and FM.
Ensemble effect derived from the Waldorf Streichfett, available for all three synthesis modes.
Strings Synthesis
Original, fully polyphonic string engine derived from the Waldorf Streichfett.
Attack and Release envelopes.
Modulations: Position (Animate), Vibrato, and Phaser.
Wavetable Synthesis
Wavetable synthesis incorporating classic Waldorf wavetables as well as new wavetables.
Virtual analog filter.
Three ADSR envelopes: Wavetable, filter, and amplitude.
Modulations: Position (Animate), Vibrato, and cutoff frequency.
Modulation control via the modulation wheel (Mod Wheel) and aftertouch.
FM Synthesis
Six 4-operator FM synthesis algorithms with feedback.
Two ADSR envelopes: FM Amount and amplitude.
Modulations: FM Amount (Animate) and Vibrato.
Modulation control via the modulation wheel (Mod Wheel) and aftertouch.
Lines Engine
A polyphonic virtual analog synthesizer based on the Solo engine from the Waldorf Streichfett.
