Zoom H6 Studio
Following the enthusiastic reception of the H5studio, ZOOM offers the H6Studio, which offers more inputs for your most ambitious creations. Like its predecessor, it features high-end mic preamps (from the F series and offering -127 dBu of input noise) and a dual A/D conversion stage offering 32-bit floating-point recording, allowing you to record without having to adjust the gain, leaving the editor free to optimize the signal. The H6studio also offers 16/24-bit recording with dedicated gain knobs for each input, and its color LCD screen can display input levels and waveforms in real time to keep your levels under control. Additionally, powerful RF shielding blocks interference from smartphones and Wi-Fi routers to ensure flawless recordings.
The H6studio comes with the XYH-5s capsule, which features two large-diaphragm microphones (19.4 mm) capable of handling up to 140 dB of SPL, capturing a wide, clear sound. It supports the other third-generation SSH-6e and EXH-6e capsules (available separately) to offer maximum recording options. The H6studio records six separate tracks plus a stereo mix with a sample rate of up to 192 kHz. The four locking XLR/TRS combo inputs support +48 V phantom power and +4 dBu line level. The H6studio offers all the necessary outputs for monitoring and connecting to external equipment such as a camera, with a test tone and record start generator.
A host of features are available to make your recordings easier: a mono mode for vocal recording, a low-cut filter, predictive limiters, normalization and export of audio files in 24-bit/16-bit WAV formats, variable speed playback and loop playback. The H6Studio functions as a 6-input / 2-output USB audio interface (Mac, Windows, iOS and Android) while simultaneously recording to SD card. It also features a voice guide for use by the blind and visually impaired. With its connector for the optional BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter, the H6studio offers wireless timecode synchronization as well as control via the ZOOM Handy Control & Sync app for iOS. It runs on 4 AA batteries for up to 15 hours of battery life and can be powered via the USB port supporting the optional AD-17 AC adapter as external portable batteries. The optional accessory kit (APH-6s) includes a padded case, a furry windscreen, an AC adapter, and a USB-C cable.
