Aguilar Octamizer DLX (Bass Octaver)
The AGUILAR Octamizer DLX is an evolution of the popular original Octamizer octave pedal. Redesigned around a new proprietary digital DSP platform, the Octamizer DLX’s circuitry retains the organic character and musicality of the original version while significantly expanding its sonic capabilities.
Equally suited for studio recording and live performance—whether played with fingers, slap, or a pick—the Aguilar Octamizer DLX is a versatile and inspiring tool for bassists seeking traditional or more contemporary sounds.
In addition to the deep, rich tones of the lower-octave circuit, the Octamizer DLX features an upper octave, as well as a second filter mode designed to create more abrasive and synthetic textures.
In addition, tracking has been improved, offering remarkable, fast, and stable note tracking with reduced latency. The Octamizer DLX responds subtly to the dynamics of your playing, particularly in the low-frequency range.
The Octamizer DLX allows you to combine three different modes: the instrument’s original signal, a lower octave, and a higher octave. Each of these voicings features individual volume and filter controls for precise adjustment.
- Octave Down / Mode A: Directly inspired by the original Octamizer, this option generates warm, deep, and round bass tones. The dedicated filter allows you to gradually shift toward brighter, harmonic-rich sounds that are well-suited for styles such as funk or soul.
- Octave Down / Mode B: Evoking old-school octave divider circuits, this mode produces rougher, grainier, and more synthetic sounds. Fans of massive basslines and vintage analog synthesizers should appreciate it.
- Octave Up: This section of the circuit generates a natural-sounding, responsive upper octave. The dedicated filter lets you transition from simple harmonic enrichment to more prominent and dense sounds, which are particularly well-suited for leads.
By combining the three options using the switches, you’ll get a full range of sounds, potentially ranging from a subtle boost in the low end to synthesizer or even organ sounds.
The switches let you intuitively activate the various signal components on the fly, without having to adjust the settings.
