Digitech DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 50th Anniversary
Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the renowned DOD Electronics, founded in 1974 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA by entrepreneurs John Johnson and “Mr. DOD” himself, David O. DiFrancesco, DIGITECH Limited Edition DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 50th Anniversary commemorate this historic anniversary.
Widely considered to be one of the most influential overdrive pedals, the original 250 helped shape the sound of rock and metal in the late 70s and early 80s. Hand-built in the USA — only 1,974 units will be made !
Using the authentic design of the original pedal, DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 50th Anniversary offers two extra modes for modern sonic versatility. It is actually three overdrive pedals in one. Set it to Silicon mode for a faithful reproduction of the original 250’s bite and grind, courtesy of an authentic LM741 op-amp. Select Ge/ASYM mode to engage a Germanium diode for asymmetrical even-order clipping that provides a distinct tonal character with incredible touch response. Or switch to Lift mode to remove diode clipping completely from the signal path, for use as a clean boost and preamp.
Equipped with a socketed LM741 op-amp and through-hole components for easier modding just as the original 250 were known for.
