Designed for Stoner, Doom, Sludge and Noise guitarists and bassists looking for a massive sound and exacerbated sustain, the EARTHQUAKER DEVICES Sunn O))) pedal Halflife combines three effects purposely positioned in the circuit as follows: Octave-Up, Distortion, Boost upstream.
This structure enables the octave to react optimally to the playing dynamics of the musician and his instrument.

Halflife is therefore not a transparent, clean or linear effect, with massive midrange-laden saturation and a natural compression reminiscent of a tube amp pushed to its limits. The analog Octave-up effect opens the door to richer, more scathing tones, while the boost potentially adds thickness, amplitude and volume.
