Fender Pugilist V2
The Pugilist V2 is a one-of-a-kind distortion pedal that combines two independent distortion engines in a single unit to produce a wide range of rich, thick tones. Each engine can be activated separately via its own footswitch and adjusted using its dedicated Gain, Tone, and Level controls. This results in two distinct types of distortion: Engine A delivers high-end-rich lead tones, while Engine B produces a thicker, more massive distortion. The real strength of the Pugilist V2 lies in its signal path selector (Path), which allows you to route the two engines through three different configurations, driving them to push each other toward harmonically rich saturation.
The two “Series” modes feed the signal from one circuit into the other to layer the tones, much like amp channels, allowing you to take the cascaded distortion to the next level with a single press of the switch. The “Parallel” mode offers great freedom in shaping the sound by running both engines simultaneously; their levels can be adjusted and balanced to create the perfect blend of precision and thickness.
Equipped with “Mid Cut” (mid-range attenuation) and “Bass Boost ," selectable Buffered and True Bypass modes, and multifunction switches for momentary or latching operation, this pedal—with its constantly interacting circuitry—delivers massive distortion while offering modern features suited to any pedalboard.
