Tascam FR-AV2
The TASCAM FR-AV2 is a portable, professional 2-channel audio recorder designed specifically for videographers, content creators, and audiovisual professionals. Compact and lightweight, it combines high-resolution recording quality, advanced timecode management, and synchronization features to simplify audio capture and post-production.
With 32-bit floating-point recording at up to 192 kHz, the FR-AV2 captures even the finest audio details while offering plenty of headroom for adjusting audio levels in post-production. Its dual analog-to-digital converter technology preserves a wide dynamic range, reducing the risk of digital clipping or loss of detail during recording.
Equipped with two XLR/6.35 mm combo inputs, the FR-AV2 features ultra-low-noise Ultra HDDA microphone preamps compatible with professional microphones and line-level sources. An additional 3.5 mm mini-jack input also allows you to connect a lavalier microphone or a wireless receiver. Built-in audio processing, including a high-pass filter, compressor, limiter, and noise gate, provides greater control over recorded signals.
The built-in timecode generator makes it easy to synchronize audio and video with compatible cameras, without the need for an external generator. The FR-AV2 supports LTC timecode input and output, as well as wireless synchronization with select Atomos devices via the separately available AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter.
This optional adapter also enables wireless monitoring and remote control via the TASCAM Recorder Connect app, which is compatible with iOS, iPadOS, and Android. Multiple compatible recorders can thus be controlled simultaneously from a mobile device.
The versatile FR-AV2 can also function as a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface, with a resolution of up to 32-bit floating-point. Its 2-inch color LCD screen makes it easy to access settings and monitor audio levels. Powered by three AA batteries or via USB-C, it integrates easily into mobile filming setups, whether used with a camera or a compatible smartphone.
