The Yamaha PSR-SX720 Plus is part of the brand's current generation of arranger keyboards, with a design clearly geared towards real-time performance and versatility. Its 61-key keyboard, featuring Fast Stroke Balancing technology, offers a consistent response across its entire range, with precise velocity control thanks to Initial Touch. This allows for full exploitation of playing nuances, whether accompanying or soloing.

The sound section is based on the AWM Stereo Sampling engine, coupled with an extensive library of 1,377 sounds. It includes Super Articulation and Super Articulation+ technologies, which reproduce natural articulations on acoustic instruments, including strings, brass, and woodwinds. The package is rounded out by 56 drum kits and full XG compatibility, expanding possibilities for MIDI playback and creation.

On the accompaniment side, the PSR-SX720 Plus offers 450 built-in styles, with a complete structure including intros, variations, fills, and endings. The Style Dynamics Control function allows for finer control of style dynamics, enabling the accompaniment intensity to be adapted to the user's playing. The Chord Looper function further enhances this feature by allowing the user to capture chord progressions and freeing up the left hand to focus on playing.

The ergonomics are based on a 7-inch color touchscreen, complemented by assignable physical controllers, including a joystick and two Live Control knobs. This configuration ensures quick access to essential parameters while playing.

Finally, the extensive connectivity—including MIDI, USB, and Bluetooth audio—facilitates integration into a live or production environment. Thanks to its integrated amplification and built-in speakers, the PSR-SX720 Plus can be used independently, while remaining perfectly suited for use with a sound system or external audio interface.
